I love to laugh, especially when God haters set out to destroy one of His.
CBS tried to do a story about how Palin is a flash-in-the-pan, but revealed the insanity about the "Bush Doctrine" gotcha question designed to trip up Palin.
The CBS writer confidently writes "Specifically, Palin seemed to have little idea about the Bush Doctrine, in which the U.S must spread democracy around the world to halt terrorist acts. "
Oh My God!
Compare that to the ABC transcript:
"GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us..."
OK, CBS? Call ABC and talk to Gibson's producers (cuz he has NO idea what the Bush Doctrine is), and find out what Gibson THOUGHT was the doctrine. Check your notes before you try to destroy someone!
Once again, here is the real Bush Doctrine. Four separate statements, each overcrossing and superceding the other. Each one enunciated, articulated and vocabularated by.... George W. Bush!!!!!!!! Gee, Chuck. How could it be murky when HE is in charge of clarification!
According to the creator of the phrase "Bush Doctrine," Charles Krauthammer: "There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine...the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today. It is utterly different."
Perhaps that is why CBS got confused. They may have had the correct doctrine, and Gibson the wrong one. Or vice versa. Or neither.
All this does is show you that ABC missed a grand opportunity for a "Gotcha" question.
Instead of asking the incredibly simple question "Who is the wife of the current President of Kazakhstan?" (Which any fool can tell you is Sara Alpysqyzy Nazarbayeva), he asks about the Bush Doctrine. Idiot. Better luck next time, Palin/God haters! Try questions you and the rest of the arrogant coastal media can actually understand.
